Book Review: I Spy the Boy Next Door by Samantha Armstrong
The protagonist, Mallory, has been spying the boy next door, Troy, for the past five years. The only time they interacted, it didn’t go so well. Mal has been homeschooled until the day she decides it’s time to go to public school for her senior year. Encounters with Troy at school and on social events, spark a new sense of interest that Mal hadn’t felt before.
The author did an amazing job with her writing style, and the characters were very likable. Troy reminded me of Edward Cullen and Travis Maddox, who are some of my top fictional boyfriends. I was originally going to give this book 3/5 stars because the plot twist was bizarre and far-fetched; however, I decided that overall the characters increased my rating. This is a NA romance novel that truly shocked me with its ending, and I recommend it to anyone who is interested in an easy, fun read.
