Book Review: Breaking the Plan (Mill Series Book 1) by Jessica Calla

Oliver Stoneridge has always had a plan. Go to Harvard's Law School in Cambridge, graduate and move to New York City to work at a law firm, and marry his best friend and childhood girlfriend - Violet. That is until his girlfriend decides that she needs "space" and leaves New Jersey to study abroad. Leaving Oliver heartbroken, he decides to ask Violet's roommate and best friend - Taryn Markos - for help to get her back. The problem is they can't stand each other. Taryn decides to help Oliver if and only if he helps her write an essay for one of her classes. It isn't until after they've spent so much time together getting to know each other when they realize that there might be something going on between them.
I received this book on May 2019, and finally got around to it. This story was easy to read, cute, funny, and quite sexy! I personally love sexy-nerds, and I can't express how much of a turn on Oliver actually is. However, what really got my attention was what a gentleman he is. We don't see a lot of those in New Adult novels, and I truly enjoyed how being a bully was not being romanticized in this story. A quote that really spoke to me was: "To have been so codependent and then have to learn to live without each other must be hard". I gave this book 5/5 stars on Goodreads.
*I received an ARC of this book from its publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
