Book Review: What Makes Girls Sick and Tired by Lucile de Pesloüan, Genevieve Darling (Illustrations)

Thank you NetGalley and Second Story Press for this DRC. Lucile did an amazing job at describing how women feel every day simply for being a woman. I am a Mexican, 18 year old girl who has experienced being cat-called by men on the streets, and this book speaks up for what I, and other women as well, feel about social issues. Genevieve did some phenomenal illustrations that complement Lucile's writing. I gave this book 4/5 stars on Goodreads.

The protagonist, Mallory, has been spying the boy next door, Troy, for the past five years. The only time they interacted, it didn’t go so well. Mal has been homeschooled until the day she decides it’s time to go to public school for her senior year. Encounters with Troy at school and on social events, spark a new sense of interest that Mal hadn’t felt before.  The author did an amazing job with her writing style, and the characters were very likable. Troy reminded me of Edward Cullen and Travis Maddox, who are some of my top fictional boyfriends. I was originally going to give this book 3/5 stars because the plot twist was bizarre and far-fetched; however, I decided that overall the characters increased my rating. This is a NA romance novel that truly shocked me with its ending, and I recommend it to anyone who is interested in an easy, fun read.  *I received an ARC of this book from its publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

Book Review: New Moon by Stephenie Meyer

I would like to start off by stating that the Twilight Saga was the first book series that I ever read after Diary of a Wimpy Kid (yeah, I know, what a shocker!). I read New Moon for the first time when I was 13 years-old. I read it again when I was around 15 years-old. Now that I'm almost 19 (it took me a few months to finish this review, so your girl is 19 now!), I decided that I needed to reread it so that I could compare my thoughts on the plot, writing style, and characters. First, the plot is f*cking stupid and dumb. I do not understand the reason why Edward would leave Bella when he clearly is head over heels for her - I mean he would sneak through her bedroom window to watch her sleep, and let me add that he would put oil on the window so it wouldn't make any noise. Book Review: Breaking the Plan (Mill Series Book 1) by Jessica Calla

Oliver Stoneridge has always had a plan.
